I have never been a huge tennis shoe person until just recently. Not counting my interesting phase in high school where I wore Texas State sweats and a t-shirt to school almost every day. Oh high school, so much growth. Ha!
My sisters have always seem to rock a good tennis shoe. One’s a nurse and one’s a teacher so maybe their professions kind of forced them into finding cute with comfort, but I am just now hopping on the bandwagon. I love finding a comfortable shoe that I can dress “up” or down. One of the girls in my bible study group actually called these her errand shoes, because they aren’t for working out or at least don’t have the support they should for that, but they are good for every day things.
I talked about this new tennis shoes the other day on Insta and had so many people share that they had purchased them too! I bought Shelton a pair for Christmas actually after we saw my father-in-law in them on Thanksgiving, so a great shoe for man or woman. I also know that Skechers has a similar pair with this leather detailing that I’ll link for multiple options. The Skecher’s pair has a memory foam insert so would feel different than the New Balance, in my opinion.
The leather detailing is what makes these shoes easier to “dress up” instead of only wearing with leggings and a t-shirt. All pieces of each look are linked below.
White tee, leggings, and ponytail are a go-to for quick (read: late) mornings or just for days spent around the house. I have just recently taken up the mantra of “dressing in case you have to leave the house”, even if I have no plans to do so. There have been multiple moments that have caught me off guard enough in how I was dressed around the house that I am no longer a pajama all day gal. Being a stay at home mom, it was so easy to have these days more often than not! EEK! Taking better care of myself means taking better care of those around me and honestly getting fully dressed, regardless of what that looks like, has been a game changer for my productivity. The orange and white tee are the same and I love the fit! Easy to change up in a moments notice.
Second kind of look is my intentionally getting out of the house but still want to be comfy look. I am not one for wearing leggings without a booty cover so I love a cardigan or plaid shirt wrapped around my waist. Maybe it’s too many times playing bootylicious in my past, but can’t rock the booty in leggings look. Haha! I love this because it’s still your base outfit of leggings and tennis shoes, but taking it up a notch and out of the “I only planned to stay at home” look. I’m showing it with different combos here. The long sweaters make me feel “dressier” without having to add a whole lot and still wearing comfy shoes!
Whatever you decide to dress your beautifully, God given bod in, be confident in it, love it, and truly find joy in each piece. It makes the simple more fun, as I think it should be!
