Men! Why are you so hard to buy for some times? LOL – If your dad, husband, boyfriend, brother, whomever you’re buying a Happy Father’s Day gift for, is anything like mine….they buy themselves what they want whenever they want and therefore, who the heck knows what to get them?
I always try to think of my favorite gifts and why they are my favorite gifts. You can think about their daily habits and what would make that easier or more enjoyable. Also, knowing your husbands love language helps here. If you haven’t done this with your spouse, you totally should. There are 5 different languages and this speaks to how they feel the most loved. Shelton’s is quality time and touch. Mine is words of affirmation. Go take it! Very interesting. Rabbit Trail – back to the gifts!
So, right now, Cason’s in the cool stage where he can actually help with certain crafts. We went to The Pottery in Midland, Tx and painted a coffee mug that says DAD on the side. Cason put his mark on it and I think Shelton will love it! The time spent to do it was small, but having something homemade that you had to go out of your way to do will mean a lot to Shelton. We painted two things and then total was less than $25! Perfect.
Other gift ideas are:
- gift certificate to a shooting range, Ally Outdoors in Midland is awesome!
- Pictures of your kids holding the letters D-A-D up.
- Engraved or personalized notebook (Shelton’s favorite way to take notes in meetings – small & portable) or portfolio.
- A map of a town or location that means a lot to them or that they have interest in. My sister in law did this for my brother in law one Christmas of his hometown. I got Shelton one of the pipeline in the Permian Basin and he hung it in his office.
- New luggage, laptop bag, or over night bag. This was used up in our first 3 years of marriage. I got him a new piece every holiday and he still uses all of them. They were pricey but such a good investment.
What are some of the things you’ve already got for your main man? I love being able to show Shelton how much we appreciate the amazing dad that he is!!
